Our Focus
In Delta Sigma Pi, our activities focus on three major aspects: professional, social, and community service. Our professional emphasis is devoted to helping one another develop exemplary interviewing and resume-writing techniques, improve public speaking and leadership skills, as well as open doors to various career opportunities through our extensive alumni networks. In addition, through office tours and professional forums, our brothers have the opportunity to meet with representatives and recruiters from some of the top business firms in the nation. To take a break from the pressures of school and work, we also find time to have fun. We organize many social events throughout the semester, such as retreats to Lake Tahoe and Santa Cruz, formal banquets, barbeques, pizza socials, and happy hours at Kip's. We also challenge other organizations in broomball and intramural sports. Another firm belief of Delta Sigma Pi is giving back to the community and helping others. Thus, community service ranks high among the priorities of our fraternity. Some of our past activities have included helping at the Boys and Girls Club of Oakland, the American Cancer Society, the San Francisco Food Bank, and feeding the homeless at local churches.
The Rewards
Through Delta Sigma Pi, you can develop lasting relationships with brothers who share a common professional interest. More importantly, Delta Sigma Pi gives you the tools to succeed in the business world. Unlike other business organizations on campus, our brothers have pledged themselves to a future of commitment which lasts long after graduation. Some of our past brothers have even united in highly successful entrepreneurial ventures. Our vast alumni network will give you a competitive advantage in internship and career pursuits. Through first-hand information and contemporary experiences, these alumni professionals serve as mentors who continually help undergraduate brothers define their academic, personal, and career aspirations. Most importantly, Delta Sigma Pi will prepare you for life – learning experiences which simply cannot be found in textbooks. The brothers of Rho chapter learn to live and work with each other, to share experiences and ideas, and to observe and develop principles of leadership, communication, and human relations. The practice of tolerance, consideration, and mutual respect are important benefits generated from the teamwork environment found in the Delta Sigma Pi experience.
